Terranano

200 years ago, the colony ship The Eminent was on its way to a new home in the far reaches of space, thousands of people awaiting a new life in suspended animation. When they awoke, however, they found themselves crash landed on a toxic and hostile planet. Many perished in the crash, including vital scientists and engineers, but those who were left were able to establish a habitable zone using the ship's nanotechnology.

As the years past, people's connection to this nanotechnology became less scientific and more intuitive. 3 factions have developed: Land Wardens explore and study the planet, Sea Farers salvage ship scrap from the acidic sea, and Sky Gazers maintain the nano-systems. Each have adapted nanotechnology for their purposes.

 As humanity has become more connected to nanotechnology so too has nanotechnology become more connected with nature. Improve an area's ecology enough and you'll find helpful Sprites, nanoconstructs that seem to have gained consciousness.
